Why I am choosing purple chrome nails this A/W
Goodbye red wine red - heads up; I refer to it as this far too many times!
It is almost the end of September, the temperature has fallen below 16 degrees in London and it is time for our Autumnal wardrobe. Everyone knows this starts with fresh nails. For the past i don’t know however long, red wine red (this is what i refer to it as, but i guess you could call it burgundy, maroon, dark red etc etc… you know the colour i am talking about.) is the colour that you have when you remove your brat summer green on your nails.
But this year i am changing it up and going for what i’m calling a deep purple and black chrome. See pics below.
Why am I changing it up?
Honestly, i feel like i am just over the red wine red shade! Don’t get me wrong, it is a stunning shade, but i feel like that colour has been shown so much on Instagram that I am just bored of it. It’s everywhere let’s be honest. And i don’t just mean on nails, it is the accent colour of this season etc etc…
I got married in Feb this year (4 days before Valentines day) and my one bridesmaid my elder sister wore a red wine red dress and matching nails and my own wedding nails were like an ombre red wine red with celestial gold nail art. Pic below, as im not describing them very well! So I feel like i should leave it be.
But fear not, i have been scrolling Pinterest (Second favourite social media app) and i have found some awesome alternatives for September nails! I have always loved a dark nail (the emo in me) but also a fun chrome shade, and these examples are basically a love child of both of those, so what is really not to love!?
Obviously these may not be to everyone’s taste, but just another option when you are sat in the nail salon and are staring at the thousand different shades trying to make a decision!
